Please tell us the year established and brief history of ANHosting?
AN Hosting, Inc. was born in early 2001. We grew from a small two man operation into the 30-someodd employees we have today and from a small office in the suburbs of Chicago to our own floor in a downtown office building. During that time ANHosting merged with midPhase hosting but kept its own name and offerings. While sharing staff and data center space, ANHosting is as unique today as it was 6 years ago.
What do you offer your customers that are unique to your company?
Experience and always leading the pack when it comes to features and packages. When we increased our offerings everyone else follows suit. You deserve that kind of preemptive service to ensure your host is always looking for new and better ways of serving the customer. ANHosting is always ahead of the curve.
What is the most challenging aspect to offering Budget Hosting?
Finding the right balance between base packages and upgrades. We want to offer our customers the world but it's also understood that certain premium services come with a price tag. Consumers in the market for budget hosting accept this but we want to entice them by giving as much as possible without the need of upgrading.
What is it that makes ANHosting a competitive company in the Budget Hosting market?
Our dedicated, focused approach to customer service and support. We do not outsource our support and treat customer satisfaction with the utmost of importance. So many companies out there either don't offer support or route you halfway across the globe. We feel if your support rep is employed by the same company they are representing they'll take the support they provide much more seriously as they have a real stake in whether your hosting is satisfactory or not.
What new features have ANHosting added for its customers in the past year?
We led the pack in offering 250GB of disk space and 2,000GB of transfer. No one was offering those kinds of numbers at the time. We have also started a concerted campaign to convince more bloggers to make the switch to ANHosting with our www.anhosting.com/for/bloggers portal and other advertising efforts. These efforts have been wildly successful and we're happy to say we host more blogs than ever.

We host about 40,000 customers.
Do you own your own datacenter?
We lease space from RCN and at the Equinix Data Center. Between both locations we have backup power via redundant power systems as well as diesel generators. Our connectivity is through several fiber drops from Cogent and Server Central.
